Road to Version 0.0.5 part I


Good Day Everyone,

It has been a while since I last posted an updated version for project magic. I took a week off to reflect on the things that I have done so far. Some aspects I was really proud of, others not so much. The redesign for Bean's movement is indeed a stressful one as I have had to rebuild certain aspects several times. I really want Version 0.0.5 to encapsulate all that I have done and fully replace Bean's current state with one that is more robust and flexible moving forward. This means that this version may take a little while to come to fruition. The goal is to get up to or even pass the systems introduced back in version 0.0.2 of the project. So to start I will give a little sneak peak what is going on. One of the first things on my list is the camera. While the previous version works its code base is a little convoluted and hard to modify. Since the camera rig was not a child of the player the sub systems of the player did not have easy access to the camera. So I decided to do a redesign of the camera taking into consideration of all the different things I want it to do. It was quite a bit of things that I wanted to do so it did take up a bit of time to create. This is just one of the many things that I am working on for Version 0.0.5 of Project Magic. What I have done so far in this project has taught me a lot of things. This includes my ways of approaching game design. I cannot wait to get Version 0.0.5 into your hands but I can't. There is a lot of work to be done. I hope that this little update will give you guys a little idea of where the project is heading.
