Patch 2


I have been sitting on this patch for a bit since I started it soon after publishing the first one. I would say that there is one major change to the games systems, but not much else have been added that are substantial. After completing this patch I noticed that I essentially have a complete character controller but with not much content that I know how to create with it. I could continue to add more systems to the character controller but it does not tackle the root of the issue. That issue is that I do not really have the experience to create compelling levels with the systems that I have created. I have essentially reached a mental block on this project. Instead of getting rid of the previous patch I decided to leave it in.

Changes:

  • Added an enemy detection range system
  • Added a soft-lock system that uses the enemy detection range system to enable a light aim assist system when engaging enemies.
  • Adjusted HUD elements both aesthetically and in function with a new reticle and reticle bounds UI
  • Arm Weapons have been adjusted to aim at new soft lock targets
  • Player body in standing state now properly faces the direction where the reticle is aiming
  • Changed the movement characteristics of the camera so that it is a little more static and allow for easier aiming
